We went to Peterhof and Pushkin. We loved Peterhof because the history is being maintained and that many uses (concerts, education etc) are being found for these beautiful places. Sydney Australia is a long way from Russia but the visit of a lifetime has been our dream for decades. One of us uses a walking stick due to an ankle operation so we chose not to join the ship-organized coach-tours with 47 other passengers & instead arranged a private guide & driver for our 2 day stay. This arrangement turned out to be excellent as the cost was similar to what we would have spent had we filled our time with tours arranged by the ship. Some time ago Sydney friends had visited St Petersburg & used LENTINA TRAVEL and their recommondation gave us the confidence to make inquiries. STANISLAVA was quick to respond & gave excellent advice about how much of our "wish-list" could be achieved in the short time we had at our disposal. She also arranged our Russian Visas as part of the deal. (We learned that we were clashing with four other ships which were also visiting the port & long queues had to be expected) When the ship tied up Stanislava was waiting to meet us as soon as we cleared Customs. She spoke excellent English which was a blessing as neither of us spoke any Russian. Stanislava explained that she had to attend University for 3 years & speak two languages fluently before she could become a Tour Guide. In the next two days she proved that she was on top of her subject and left us with unforgettable memories.

TO ALL VISITORS TO ST PETERSBURG , RUSSIA My wife and I have recently returned from a 10-day cruise to the Baltic countries. The highlight of our cruise was a 2-day visit to St Petersburg , which we had heard so much about but had never visited. Knowing that we were required to obtain the necessary "Tourist Visas" before we arrived , I attempted to do so via the authorized authorities in the United States. This was extremely frustrating , since we were told that such visas were only granted to people who booked hotel accommodation in St Petersburg. Passengers arriving by cruise-ship would have "Tourist Visas" granted only if booked on shore-excursions offered by the cruise company ... and since we wanted to see the delights of St Petersburg on our own , we faced a problem !! Fortunately Trip Advisor solved our problem ... and pointed us in the direction of LENTINA TRAVEL COMPANY who offered tours of the city and nearby attractions. This was the best decision which we could ever have made. The owner of LENTINA TRAVEL COMPANY , Stanislava Somova , told us all about her city and the attractions that we could visit ... catering to the needs of a keen photographer (me) and an avid shopper (my wife). She listened to our needs and drew up a comprehensive itinerary which embraced all of the famous and historic sites (and sights) of St Petersburg and nearby Pushkin , a river and canal cruise , and an evening of Russian ballet. In addition , LENTINA TRAVEL COMPANY arranged for the necessary "Tourist Visas" at NO CHARGE. Our e-mail "interaction" before we departed the United States was FIRST CLASS and Stanislava took care of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING !! We arrived in St Petersburg clutching our "Tourist Visas" , passed through the security check-point and walked outside to be met by a smiling Stanislava clutching a large sign bearing our names. She introduced herself and walked us to a luxury air-conditioned car where we met Sergei , who would be our driver for 2 days. We were made to feel like family by Stanislava , who speaks perfect English. Stanislava was without any doubt the BEST tour-guide that we could ever have wished for. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of the history of St Petersburg ... and showed us all the historic landmarks with enthusiasm , a keen sense of humor and with pride. She was patient with me , catering to all my requests to "take a photograph , please" and taking my wife shopping. As I said before , we simply could not have wished for a better guide and driver. Stanislava and Sergei were punctual , polite , entertaining ... and both treated us as if we were FAMILY. Stanislava organized everything down to the most minute detail , so that we could see everything including a night at the Russian Ballet and a river / canal tour. Throughout , Stanislava conducted herself most professionally ... she was always happy and did everything that she could to make our visit to St Petersburg the BEST EXPERIENCE EVER !! We will never forget Stanislava Somova or LENTINA TRAVEL COMPANY !! We heartily recommend Stanislava and LENTINA TRAVEL COMPANY to all tourists intending to visit St Petersburg.

I just got back from a Baltic Cruise which included St.Petersburg , Russia. We chose Lentina Travel Company as our guided tour company and may I say that we were surprisingly amazed at the knowledge our guide Stanislava had and at the depth of our tours. She made the most of our two days there and we had tailor-made tours. Stanislava and Sergei (our driver) went out of their way to accomodate us and to enable us to tour St. Petersburg extensively and at our own pace. We never had to wait in queues, or pay extra for taking pictures or videos. Wherever we went we skipped ahead of the queues (thanks to Stanislava) and could take pictures. It was the most comfortable tour of the whole cruise. My partner and myself were driven around in a comfortable Mercedes Benz and it was just us and the driver and the guide in the car, We were also given a bottle of mineral water and a blanket visa was provided for us by Lentina Travel. Contrary to what people might think, when we compared the price, it was lower than the coach tours which some of the cruise liner passengers had taken and much more intense and informative. Although Lentina Travel have been operating just since last April 2011, they will go far because they offer an excellent service. I cannot praise them enough and it is thanks to them that we managed to see the real beauty of St. Petersburg in just two days. When we travel, I always take the advise of trip advisor to find my private tour companies as we hate being a part of the "lollipop" tours of the cruise ships and it is cheaper this way. AGAIN, I found a perfect tour company with LENTINA TRAVEL for our tour of St Petersburg, Russia, Sept 4-5, 2011. I emailed other companies, but from the beginning this one just seemed to be the perfect match. Stanislava of Lentina Travel Company emailed me every day and soon we had our tour planned and she emailed our tour tickets which were also our blanket visas to get us into Russia. To our surprise, she was the one who met us at the port and ended up being our guide; and what a pleasure she was.....very personnable, knowledgeable, spoke great english, and knew when to get to the sights to beat the crowds! We had a very comfortable van for the 4 of us traveling; Stanislava, our guide; and a driver, who went out of his way when dropping us off and picking us up, always a door open and a hand out to help us. Our Canadian friends we were traveling with had never done a private tour before and they had their hesitations about taking a 2-day tour with a guide, but the Lentina tour Stanislava quickly became their favorite part of the trip. The four of us spent 2 wonderful, exciting days with Stanislava, and her tour ending up being the highlight of our cruise. At the end, it was hard to say goodbye to Stanislava. When you tear up saying goodbye to your tour guide, you know you had good time!! We highly recommend Lentina Travel Company whether visiting St Petersburg by land or by sea, you will have a wonderful time.
