The tour starts with a visit to Peter and Paul's Fortress and an inside tour of Peter and Paul's Cathedral where Russian Emperors from Peter the Great through Nicolas II are buried. You will also see here the tombs of other members of the royal family. A number of interesting buildings complete the ensemble of the Fortress.
Taking a cruise along the Moika and the Neva rivers is another way to appreciate the splendid architecture of the city. You will pass by Yusupoff's palace, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the spit of Basil's island, Aurora cruiser and more.
After the canal cruise you will either go to a souvenir store or back to the ship, depending on your wish and spare time.
